1. The bed is 8" longer and 8" wider than a standard sized mattress
2. The height of the top of the headboard is 48" above the floor
3. The height of the top of the mattress support slats is 14"
4. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats 1" below the top of the sides
5. The posts are 3.5" by 3.5". This is much larger than the normal 2.7" by 2.7" size.
6. The 6 drawers glide on steel ball bearing drawer slides
7. The drawer box sides are 9" tall for the bed with the top of the slats at 14" above the floor. The drawer length is about half the width of your mattress: 38" for a King size, 36" for a California King, 30" for a Queen. The sum of the widths of the 3 drawer boxes is 61" for a King or Queen and 65" for a California King. The widths of the drawer boxes can be about the same or the head end drawer box can be less wide as is shown in the photos.

9. The Queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is 1.5". 20 slats are provided.
10. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species. Drawer bottoms are of high quality 1/4" plywood.

We use only solid hardwood sourced from forests in the Appalachian region of the United States. No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. High quality USA made plywood is used in drawer bottoms and cabinet backs and some interior drawer support structure. The wood that is not normally seen (such as mattress support slats) is a different hardwood species.

Our standard finish is Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful, highly durable and easy to maintain finish that brings out the natural character and unique grain patterns of our hardwoods. Our hardwood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been sustainably harvested for hundreds of years. Wood is a natural product and as a result grain patterns and variation in color and character in the wood are different in each piece of furniture and will not be an exact match with the listing photos. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.
