Low Platform Bed with drawers! 6 deep drawers with ball bearing slides help keep your under the bed space neat and tidy. The bed is custom made for you. Contact Us to request almost any change that you would like.

Dimensions

  1. The bed is 6" wider and 3" longer than a standard sized mattress
  2. The length for a Queen or Eastern King is 83". The width for a Queen is 66" and Eastern King is 82".
  3. The sides sit on the floor and are 14" tall
  4. The drawers glide on side mount steel ball bearing drawer slides.
  5. Full and larger sizes have 6 drawers and Twin size normally has 3 drawers but has the option for 6 drawers. The drawers are opened by pulling on the bottom of the drawer faces.
  6. For King or Queen the drawer box interior dimensions are top to bottom depth 7.75", side to side 20", and a little less than half mattress width for front to back depth.
  7. The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats at the same level as the top of the sides. Or upon request, the slats can be positioned lower so that a Tatami mat can be placed on the slats. The Queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided.
  8. Drawer bottoms are of high quality 1/4" plywood

Build Quality

Our furniture is built to order using time-honored construction methods. We use solid American Hardwood as our primary material - no veneers or compressed particle boards are used. High quality plywood is only used in drawer bottoms, cabinet backs, and some interior support structure where it provides needed dimensional stability.

Our standard finish is un-stained wood finished with Tung Oil. This creates a highly durable and easy to maintain surface that brings out the natural character and unique grain patterns of our hardwoods.

For an added charge stain can be applied prior to the Tung Oil finish. More details can be found at our Finish Options and Stain Choices pages. The cost is shown in the drop down menu above.

Our hardwood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been harvested for hundreds of years. Hardwood is a natural product and has grain and color variations that make each piece of furniture unique. No piece is an exact match with the listing photos.
