Low Storage Bed with 4 drawers and 2 cubbies. The bed is custom made for you. Contact Us to request almost any change that you would like.

Dimensions

  1. The bed is 5" wider and 8" longer than a standard sized mattress
  2. The top of the headboard is 47" from the floor
  3. The bed platform is 16" from the floor.
  4. The bottom of the bed sides and footboard are 1" from the floor
  5. The side frames, footboard and upper headboard are 1.75" thick at the top
  6. The head posts are 47" tall
  7. The head and foot posts are about 2.875" square
  8. The bed has two drawers pulling out of each side. The 4 drawers glide on side mount steel ball bearing drawer slides that extend out about 28" for a Queen or larger bed. The drawer boxes are 9" tall for all sizes and are about 36" long x 25" wide for a King size bed.
  9. The drawer face that is closest to the head end of the bed is about 22" from the wall side of the head post.
  10. The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats about 1" below the top of the sides. The bed has a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided.
  11. Drawers can be opened by pulling the bottom of the drawer face, or a pull can be installed (see options below)

Because most customers have a bedside table next to their bed, there is a open “cubby” at the head end of the bed as shown in photos 1-9. Other options for this space include:

1. Standard configuration: Open cubby w/ plywood finish. The opening of the cubby is about 12" wide by 9.5" tall. Shown in photos 1-9 2. Open cubby finished with exterior bed wood. Same dimensions as #1. + $250 (+350 for Walnut) 3. Fixed, non-operational panel. Looks like the other drawers but does not open. No change in cost. 3. Functional drawers. +$195

Drawer Pulls are NOT required for this bed as they can be opened by pulling the bottom of the drawer face.

If you prefer a drawer pull cutout or drawer pull hardware, the options include: 1. Curved cutout pull 2. 1"x 5" rectangular cutout 3. Drawer pull hardware options

Build Quality

Our furniture is built to order using time-honored construction methods. We use solid American Hardwood as our primary material - no veneers or compressed particle boards are used. High quality plywood is only used in drawer bottoms, cabinet backs, and some interior support structure where it provides needed dimensional stability.

Our standard finish is un-stained wood finished with Tung Oil. This creates a highly durable and easy to maintain surface that brings out the natural character and unique grain patterns of our hardwoods.

For an added charge stain can be applied prior to the Tung Oil finish. More details can be found at our Finish Options and Stain Choices pages. The cost is shown in the drop down menu above.

Our hardwood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been harvested for hundreds of years.
