1. The area for the mattress is surrounded by platform extensions about 6" wide, thus the bed ouside measurements are about 12" wider and 9" longer than a standard mattress

2. From floor to top of bed sides is approximately 11", the top of the slats is about at the top of platform extension tops. In the photos the bed sides and foot sit on the floor, but the posts can extend below the side to raise the frame on "legs".

3. The headboard bottom edge begins at the top of the platform extenions as a vertical board behind the mattress. About at the top of the mattress, the headboard angles toward the wall at about 8 degrees. The headboard here is about floor to top of headboard 37" but we can customize to suit your mattress thickness. Contact us for a quote.

3. Canopy posts are approximately 2.875" square, the canopy rails are about 2.5" square. Floor to top of the canopy is about 87" and can be customized.

4.Platform configuration slats are about 2.5" wide and we provide enough to place them about 1.5" between the slats. Contact us to discuss using the frame to surround adjustable base or with box springs and mattress.

5. The headboard has two panels which can have your choice of wood species as shown in the listing photos. If you prefer, the headboard can be created as horizontal boards the width of the bed without panels.

We use only solid hardwood sourced from forests in the Appalachian region of the United States. No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. High quality USA made plywood is used in drawer bottoms and cabinet backs and some interior drawer support structure. The wood that is not normally seen (such as mattress support slats) is a different hardwood species.

Our standard finish is Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful, highly durable and easy to maintain finish that brings out the natural character and unique grain patterns of our hardwoods. Our hardwood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been sustainably harvested for hundreds of years. Wood is a natural product and as a result grain patterns and variation in color and character in the wood are different in each piece of furniture and will not be an exact match with the listing photos. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.
