Details

Daybed with pull-lift trundle features 3 different functions: a day bed, 2 twin beds or 1 large bed. The bed features a handy pull-lift trundle daybed mechanism that makes it easy to switch between the 3 modes. The bed is custom made for you. The same bed with armrests is NtRnS1a.

Dimensions

The pop up trundle is a customer favorite because of flexibility that it provides:

  • Function 1: trundle stowed under the primary mattress
  • Function 2: traditional trundle bed with the bottom mattress pulled out in the lower position
  • Function 3: trundle in the upper position to create a large upper bed. This bed features a hinge mechanism to raise and lock the trundle to the main bed height.

Daybed with trundle dimensions:

  1. The floor to the bottom of the upper mattress is 16"
  2. The floor to the bottom of the front of the frame board is 12"
  3. The floor to the top of the back board is 39"
  4. The upper mattress and the trundle mattress are the same thickness of 8" or less so that they are the same height when the trundle is in the upper position to create a consistent bed surface. Thicker mattresses by special request.
  5. The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for the upper mattress resting on slats with tops about 2" below the top of the sides. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided.
  6. The trundle rolls on 6 wheels. The trundle also has about 20 slats. The level of the trundle slats is positioned so that when the trundle is raised, the bottom of the trundle mattress is at the same height as the bottom of the upper mattress.
  7. The trundle can be used in the position that is low to the floor as is shown in the 4th photo. Or it can be used raised so that both mattress bottoms are at the same level. When the trundle is raised it easily attaches to the upper frame with pegs. Thus, the two mattresses are held rigidly in position relative to each other. The distance between the sides of the two mattresses is about 1.5". This gap can be filled with a foam strip. The support boards for the lifted trundle are attached under the trundle and stored there when not in use. When the trundle is lifted they swing down on hinges. The two mattresses butt together when the trundle is raised.

Build Quality

Our furniture is built to order using time-honored construction methods. We use solid American Hardwood as our primary material - no veneers or compressed particle boards are used. High quality plywood is only used in drawer bottoms, cabinet backs, and some interior support structure where it provides needed dimensional stability.

Our standard finish is un-stained wood finished with Tung Oil. This creates a highly durable and easy to maintain surface that brings out the natural character and unique grain patterns of our hardwoods.

For an added charge stain can be applied prior to the Tung Oil finish. More details can be found at our Finish Options and Stain Choices pages. The cost is shown in the drop down menu above.

Our hardwood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been harvested for hundreds of years. Hardwood is a natural product and has grain and color variations that make each piece of furniture unique. No piece is an exact match with the listing photos. The unique color, grain, and appearance are all part of the one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.

We are proud that the production and sale of our furniture supports the people and economy of the Appalachian region.
