Canopy Bed with 4 drawers and box spring base. This is a rich, solid canopy bed that incorporates storage under a substantial box spring. The bed is custom made for you. Contact Us to request almost any change that you would like.

Dimensions

  1. The bed, canopy included, is 84" tall
  2. The bed has 4 drawers, 2 pulling out from each side of the bed
  3. The bed posts plus top rails are 84" tall and are 2.8" by 2.8" inches at mid height, tapering on the two inward facing sides to 1.5" by 1.5" at the top and bottom
  4. The sideboard tops are 22.5" from the floor, and are 10" tall
  5. There is 12.5" of clearance under the bed
  6. The bed is for use with box springs. The springs rest on slats 8" below the top of the sides. 5 slats are provided.
  7. King bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos.
  8. The drawers glide on side mount steel ball bearing drawer slides
  9. On request, the drawers can be made less wide to leave space for a fixed panel at one end, providing space for a bed side table.
  10. The bed feet have adjustable bottoms for uneven floors
  11. The drawer box bottoms and cabinet back are made of high quality 1/4" plywood
  12. Drawer boxes are made from a light color hardwood such as Maple, Poplar or Bass
  13. The bed in the photos is made from solid Cherry finished with Minwax Barn Red stain and Tung Oil finish.

Build Quality

Our furniture is built to order using time-honored construction methods. We use solid American Hardwood as our primary material - no veneers or compressed particle boards are used. High quality plywood is only used in drawer bottoms, cabinet backs, and some interior support structure where it provides needed dimensional stability.

Our standard finish is un-stained wood finished with Tung Oil. This creates a highly durable and easy to maintain surface that brings out the natural character and unique grain patterns of our hardwoods.

For an added charge stain can be applied prior to the Tung Oil finish. More details can be found at our Finish Options and Stain Choices pages. The cost is shown in the drop down menu above.

Our hardwood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been harvested for hundreds of years. Hardwood is a natural product and has grain and color variations that make each piece of furniture unique. No piece is an exact match with the listing photos.
