Platform bed with drawers approximate dimensions:

1. The bed is 6″ wider and 3″ longer than a standard sized mattress
2. The length for a Queen or Eastern King is 83″. The width for a Queen is 66″ and Eastern King is 82″.
3. The sides sit on the floor and are 14″ tall
4. The drawers glide on side mount steel ball bearing drawer slides.
5. Full and larger sizes have 6 drawers and Twin size normally has 3 drawers but has the option for 6 drawers. The drawers are opened by pulling on the bottom of the drawer faces.
6. For King or Queen the drawer box interior dimensions are top to bottom depth 7.75″, side to side 20″, and a little less than half mattress width for front to back depth.
7. The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats at the same level as the top of the sides. Or upon request, the slats can be positioned lower so that a Tatami mat can be placed on the slats. The Queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5″. 20 slats are provided.
8. Drawer bottoms are of high quality 1/4″ plywood

Build Quality

No veneers or compressed particle boards are used except for high quality plywood in drawer bottoms and cabinet backs and some interior drawer support structure.

Our standard finish is un-stained wood finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful, highly durable and easy to maintain finish that brings out the natural character and unique grain patterns of our hardwoods.

Our wood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been sustainably harvested for hundreds of years. Wood is a natural product and as a result grain patterns and variation in color and character in the wood are different in each piece of furniture and will not be an exact match with the listing photos. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.
