1. The bed is 6" wider and 6.5" longer than a standard sized mattress
2. The top of the headboard is 48" from the floor
3. The bed platform is 16" from the floor
4. The bottom of the bed sides and footboard are 3" from the floor
5. The side frames, footboard and upper headboard are 1.75" wide at the top
6. The foot posts are 6.5" wide x 2.5" thick
7. The bed has two drawers pulling out of each side. The 4 drawers glide on side mount steel ball bearing drawer slides that extend out about 28" for a Queen or larger bed. The drawer boxes are 9" tall for all sizes and are about 36" long for a King size bed.
8. The drawer face that is closest to the head end of the bed is about 7" from the wall side of the head post
9. The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats about 1" below the top of the sides. The bed has a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided. The height of the top of the slats is about 16".
10. The inset drawers in this bed are flush with the sideboard and require a pull to be opened. The photos show an Oil Rubbed Bronze Bar Pull that is included with this listing, contact us for other options.
11. The photos show a block on the bottom of each post that is not standard. The standard is that the posts continue to the floor with the same space below the the sides (about 3"). You can request a block of a shape of your choice for an added charge.

We use only solid hardwood sourced from forests in the Appalachian region of the United States. No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. High quality USA made plywood is used in drawer bottoms and cabinet backs and some interior drawer support structure. The wood that is not normally seen (such as mattress support slats) is a different hardwood species.

Our standard finish is Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful, highly durable and easy to maintain finish that brings out the natural character and unique grain patterns of our hardwoods. Our hardwood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been sustainably harvested for hundreds of years. Wood is a natural product and as a result grain patterns and variation in color and character in the wood are different in each piece of furniture and will not be an exact match with the listing photos. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.
