This wood artist puts big box store beds to shame! The quality is beautiful to the eyes; so sturdy you can feel it to the touch; the finish highlights the wood grain; beautiful joinery; perfect size for me; will last the rest of my life. I've been pointing out the joinery to my friends and family. Plus it is solid and stable. I worked with the front office on the specs. They were right on the money with my mattress height. Worth the wait. He put the most beautiful wood in the headboard and footboard. I expected several weeks for delivery. A couple weeks versus the rest of my life, the wait was worth it. The instructions were emailed to me. They are super detaied. It took 2 men a couple hours and I was ready to add the bedding. Great seller.

This is my favorite thing in my house. It's just gorgeous. I need a double bed which isn’t very common for adults so it was getting really difficult to find one that I liked. I’m glad I found this shop! I chose cherry wood with stain BC since I wanted a kind of dark, aged-patina look to it and it was perfect. Barbara, Dawna, and Lee were all super helpful and nice to work with-- we tweaked some measurements for the bed and headboard design and everything came out great. Nothing wobbles or squeaks and it feels so solid. The shipping process was also explained thoroughly and the assembly directions were easy to follow. I'm a small person and I was able to put it together on my own with some finangling, so while it's possible, I'd also take an extra person like the seller says. Great experience and amazing bed!

I had a lot of concerns before ordering, so here is my experience. The delivery was painless and easy to arrange. I unpacked the crate, carried everything inside, and set up the bed, all by myself, with no problem. I am a 64 y.o. male. I believe a smaller-stature person could have done everything alone except maybe carry the headboard. So don't hesitate, it's a premium bed at a bargain price! Your $$ stay in America, and the sellers are sooo nice!

Gorgeous, extremely well-made bed. I didn't see 2 items in one of the reviews that I want to mention: it will take time to get it, assume 4 to 4.5 months; and be sure to consider both the slat height from the floor (given in the detailed description, which they'll adjust if you request it) and your mattress thickness so you don't have to climb up or jump into bed. But also consider that unless you're using a foam mattress, today's inner spring ones are VERY heavy, so higher slats means less lifting when making the bed. Those items aren't negatives, I don't have any negatives about the bed. It's one of the most solid, well-made, high-quality pieces of furniture that I've ever seen, with beautiful wood and finishing. Every piece fit perfectly with the next when assembling. We're delighted.

Our daybed and trundle is absolutely magnificent. We ordered this for our nursery a week after our first child was born. It has a subtle elegance and comes off both beautiful and simple - speaking to its Shaker influence. When you look, sit, or sleep on it, it's very sturdy. Our hope was to buy something our son could grow into, and this will last for decades. We also wanted his first bed made in America and without any off-gassing chemicals. We love the Ohio furniture makers and sustainable materials. You should know that the process takes time - as it should for something you can pass down to future generations. You should also know the delivery process was very hard - a heavy crate comes to the curbside, and you have to rapidly disassemble and inpsect all the parts. Hire someone to help so it's not stressful.

The most beautiful piece of furniture I have ever and will ever own. I can’t emphasize that enough. It is perfect and I’m so happy to own this piece of art. The team worked with me to use different drawer pulls and the final result is beautiful. Exactly what I wanted. Note that this custom piece and it’s meticulously packaged and shipped. It took me at least 2 hours to get it out of the packaging, but it was absolutely worth it because it was spotless. Don’t let the packaging deter you! Bed frame is sturdy. This bed is absolutely fantastic! The wood is high quality and the craftsmanship is outstanding. Putting it together was also fairly straightforward. They do all of the annoying parts like attaching the drawer rails and pre-drilling every single hole needed for wood screws so assembly was easy. This bed is so solid, its going to last a few lifetimes.

Phenomenal quality and design, you can tell the bed frame was built and finished with care. Even the slats are made from nice quality maple (one of the slats had beautiful "flame" figuring, I couldn't believe such a nice piece of wood was being used for a bed slat!). I ordered some stain samples to select a finish, and when I ordered the bed I was even asked to send the stain sample back so they could ensure the finished bed would match the sample. That's an impressive level of attention to detail and craftsmanship. Assembly was a breeze, the bed came with good quality screws, not the cheap zinc stuff. The bed slats even had pilot holes pre-drilled. I wouldn't hesitate to buy furniture from this seller again.

This bed is the nicest piece of furniture I've ever owned. I am proud of the fact it was built by hand, in the USA. It arrived almost a month earlier than quoted which made us very happy! The craftsmanship is flat-out amazing! The bed ships unassembled, in a box on a pallet. Throughout the assembly, each piece, each fastener, each pre-drilled fitting was in exactly the right place, and the finished assembly is rock-solid. The frame we ordered exceeded our expectations by 10 fold. The detail involved in the construction is more than I expected. Above that, the cherry wood and finish is beautiful. This bed exceeded expectations. Lee made me a bed that fits my California king mattress, is narrow enough for the wall, low enough for the light switch, and with a headboard of shelves in lieu of the nightstands we used to have, and it has 12 drawers for storage. Not only that but it is beautiful and easily the best piece of furniture I’ve ever seen. It’s easy to assemble, the pieces are nicely labeled, the instructions are thorough, and have thoughtful details, like advising you to assemble the bed where you intend to use it, or reminding you to plug things in first if the bed will cover an outlet. Customer service was great, they were responsive and communicated every step of the way.

The bed frame arrived exactly as it was advertised. It is a beautiful and timeless piece that I'm sure will last a lifetime. Not only that, but Lee and his team were a joy to work with. We ran into a small issue when assembling the bed, and we called Lee's personal number that he provided with our order, and he picked up immediately. Let's start with the material. This is beautiful SOLID CHERRY that is hand-rubbed with tung oil. The wood and finish are spectacular. Next, the craftsmanship. They built a solid bed frame that they let me customize a bit, adding an extended headboard and lowering the mattress height. Now the design. The bed frame floats on two supports that stretch the width of the bed. The supports are also solid hand-rubbed cherry. It was not difficult to put together. Finally, the vendor. I had a few interactions with them to specify exactly what I want. They were helpful and EXTREMELY pleasant to work with. I could not be happier with my purchase. My expectations were exceeded. I was reluctant to spend this much without first seeing the bed or knowing the vendor. I'm very happy that I took the leap.

Lee is, as many others have noted, a craftsman. It's gratifying to receive, and assemble, a piece that is entirely devoid of plastic, fiberboard, glue, China, et al. The assembly isn't difficult but isn't amateur hour, either. The pieces ultimately fit nicely together but sometimes entail slight bows, knots, curves, etc. endemic to real wood. My mattress feels great on it and the elevation is just about right. I certainly recommend Lee and Barbara.

I looked everywhere for a quality solid wood platform bed reminiscent of those we encountered during our travels to Japan. Everything I found was made of cheap particle board or cost several thousands of dollars and still wasn’t exactly what I wanted. After stumbling across this shop on Etsy, Barbara and Lee patiently answered my many questions and I finally submitted a customized order to my exact preferences. After a 10 week wait, the bed was delivered seamlessly curbside in NYC, it was easy to unpack and assemble (though having 2 people is best). Wow! Beautiful work, this thing is solid! No creaks or wobbles and a beautiful finish on the wood that is smooth to the touch. Very pleased to have a bed that will never need replacing and glad to be supporting American craftsmanship. The quality of this piece is wonderful, and I really appreciate being able to buy US-made, heirloom quality furniture that ships flat-pack! Getting the bed up to our third floor was no joke, as it ships on a pallet and it's HEAVY, but we did it and it's great. The drawers have a wonderful gentle sliding action & rubber stoppers, and the storage space is a game changer for our 1920's house with little to no closet room. We waited about four months for the piece due to Covid-related shipping delays. It was worth the wait to have just the right thing that will last for decades.
