Platform storage bed approximate dimensions

1. 1. The sides and ends sit on the floor and are 14″ tall with the slats near the top of the sides
   2. The bed is 4″ and 4″ wider than a standard size mattress. See our mattress size guide for more details. 
   3. The length for a queen or king is 84″. The width for a queen is about 64″ and for a king the width is about 80″.
   4. The drawers glide on side mount steel ball bearing drawer slides. Full and larger sizes have 6 drawers and the twin size normally has 3 drawers but has the option for 6 drawers.
   5. The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats at the same level as the top of the sides. Or upon request, the bed sides can be made taller so that the top of the slats with height not changed can be lower than the frame top so that a Tatami mat can be placed on the slats.
   6. Queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos.
   7. The space between the slats is about 1.5″. 20 slats are provided.

No veneers or compressed particle boards are used in this platform storage bed except for high quality plywood in drawer bottoms. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species.

Our standard finish is Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful, highly durable and easy to maintain finish that brings out the natural character and unique grain patterns of our hardwoods. Our hardwood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been sustainably harvested for hundreds of years. Wood is a natural product and as a result grain patterns and variation in color and character in the wood are different in each piece of furniture and will not be an exact match with the listing photos. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.
