Modern canopy bed with low, wide platform and large square rails. This bed is made from 100% solid American hardwood with no plywood or particle board.

The bed is very similar to cbfsn1 but features a wider bed platform that gives extra space around all sides of the mattress. This both enhances the look of the bed and provides a extra space for bedtime essentials. The bed is custom made to order. Contact Us to request almost any change that you would like.

Modern canopy bed approximate dimensions:

1. 1. The bed is 12″ longer and 12″ wider than a standard size mattress
   2. The overall bed is 84″ tall
   3. Low platform: The sides and ends sit on the floor and are 11″ tall
   4. Wide width platform: the platform is 12″ wider than a standard mattress (6″ on each side) and 12″ longer than your mattress (6″ at the foot end and 6″ at the head end)
   5. Canopy posts are 2.8″ by 2.8″ square top to bottom and are 84″ tall
   6. Top canopy rails are 2.5″ by 2.5″ square
   7. The platform side top wood that is exposed at the sides and foot end will be the same as all the exposed wood finished like all of the visible wood.
   8. The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats at the same level as the top of the sides. The Queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5″. 20 slats are provided.
   9. If you would like to push the mattress to the wall without seeing uncovered slats at the foot end, you can order a 6 inch wide slat that is finished wood the same as the exterior of your bed. Cost is $55 ($95 for Walnut). You can request a different extension width for a different price that will be quoted after your request.

Build Quality

No veneers or compressed particle boards are used except for high quality plywood in drawer bottoms and cabinet backs and some interior drawer support structure.

Our standard finish is un-stained wood finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful, highly durable and easy to maintain finish that brings out the natural character and unique grain patterns of our hardwoods.

Our wood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been sustainably harvested for hundreds of years.
