Low storage bed with 6 drawers approximate dimensions:

1. The bed is 5″ longer and 8″ wider than a standard sized mattress
2. The top of the headboard is 48″ above the floor
3. The headboard top and side and foot board top edges are 2.25″ thick. The headboard is two sections that butt together plus the support posts behind the two boards.
4. The cut out at the bottom of the foot board is 3″ tall. The width of the feet at the end is 7″.
5. The 6 drawers glide on steel ball bearing drawer slides. The inside top to bottom depth of drawers is 5.75″. The drawer box widths (direction parallel to bed sides) are 19″ for a King or Queen bed. The drawer box length (direction perpendicular to bed sides) is half the width of a standard sized mattress. The drawers open by pulling on the bottom of the drawer face.
6. The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats 1″ lower than the top of the sides. The Queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is 1.5″. 20 slats are provided. The height of the top of the slats is 11″.

Build Quality

No veneers or compressed particle boards are used except for high quality plywood in drawer bottoms and cabinet backs and some interior drawer support structure.

Our standard finish is un-stained wood finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful, highly durable and easy to maintain finish that brings out the natural character and unique grain patterns of our hardwoods.

Our wood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been sustainably harvested for hundreds of years. Wood is a natural product and as a result grain patterns and variation in color and character in the wood are different in each piece of furniture and will not be an exact match with the listing photos. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.
