Solid platform bed approximate dimensions:

1. The bed is 13″ wider and 9″ longer than a standard sized mattress
2. The top of the trim surrounding the mattress is 8″ from the floor
3. The top of the mattress support slats / bottom of the mattress is 7″ from the floor
4. The platform extension is 6″ beyond the sides and foot end of the frame beneath. The platform extension is not under the mattress.
5. The platform extension is made of 7/8″ thick wood with a trim piece at the outer edge that makes the entire extension look like it is 1.75″ thick.
6. The head posts are 43″ tall and are 6″ wide by 1.75″ thick. The headboard is 1.75″ thick at the top.
7. The bed will be configured for a mattress resting on 20 slats spaced 1.5″. The top of the slats is 1″ below the top of the extended platform. A center support beam will be under the slats for the Queen and larger sizes. The beam will have 4 legs to the floor.

No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species.

Our standard finish is Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful, highly durable and easy to maintain finish that brings out the natural character and unique grain patterns of our hardwoods. Our hardwood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been sustainably harvested for hundreds of years. Wood is a natural product and as a result grain patterns and variation in color and character in the wood are different in each piece of furniture and will not be an exact match with the listing photos. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.
