Approximate Dimensions:

1. The bed is 8″ longer and 12″ wider than a standard sized mattress
2. The length for a Queen or King is 88″. The width for a Queen is 72″ and for a King the width is 88″.
3. The “platform extensions” are horizontal pieces of wood that extend 6″ beyond the sides and foot end of the bed
4. The height from the floor to the top of the platform extensions is 14″
5. The distance from the top of the headboard to the floor is 40″
6. The headboard is angled (away from the the mattress) by about 8 degrees
7. The drawers are located on both sides of the bed and glide on steel ball bearing drawer slides
8. The Full and larger sizes have 6 drawers (3 on each side of the bed) and the Twin size has options for 6 or 3 drawers
9. The bed is a platform configuration for use without a box spring. 20 hardwood slats are provided to support the mattress.
10. The height from the floor to the mattress bottom and the top of the support slats is 13″
11. Drawer boxes are made from a light color hardwood such as Maple, Poplar or Bass
12. The drawer box bottoms are high quality 1/4″ plywood

The bed in the photos is solid Walnut finished with Tung Oil.

No veneers or compressed particle boards are used except for high quality plywood in drawer bottoms and cabinet backs and some interior drawer support structure.

Our standard finish is un-stained wood finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful, highly durable and easy to maintain finish that brings out the natural character and unique grain patterns of our hardwoods.

Our wood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been sustainably harvested for hundreds of years. Wood is a natural product and as a result grain patterns and variation in color and character in the wood are different in each piece of furniture and will not be an exact match with the listing photos. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.
