Constructed to be timeless and elegant, this box spring bed will match with a wide variety of interior designs. This beautiful bed features tall head and foot boards with flat horizontal trim on top. It is designed for use with a Box Spring and Mattress set. However, if you like the style but want to use it as a platform bed, it can be configured without box springs. Box Spring Bed Dimensions

• This box sprung bed is 3.5″ wider and 7″ longer than a standard sized mattress*
• The tops of the sides are 17″ from the floor.
• The bottoms of the sides are 6″ from the floor. The box springs are mounted 2 inches higher than the bottoms of the sides, making them 8″ from the floor.
• The side boards are 11″ wide.
• The top of the head board is 57″ above the floor
• The 4 bed posts are straight, with a 2.8″ by 2.8″ midsection, tapered to 1.5″ by 1.5″ bottoms. Pads on the feet can be adjusted for uneven floors.
• The King and Cal King sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The center support beam has 4 short legs that go to the floor.
• We offer a platform configuration for use without box springs (invoiced separately). This includes 20 hardwood slats and a support beam under the slats for the queen and larger beds. There is a space between the slats of 1.5″ and the top of the slats is about 16″ from the floor.
• The bed shown in the photos is made from solid Walnut, no stain and Tung Oil finish.

* A standard sized mattress refers to one of our mattress options. The plans are adjusted to fit at ordering time.

Build Quality

Our beds are of the highest quality. No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. High quality plywood is only used in drawer bottoms, cabinet backs, and some interior drawer support structure.

Our standard finish is un-stained wood finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful, highly durable and easy to maintain finish that brings out the natural character and unique grain patterns of our hardwoods.

For an added charge  stain can be applied prior to the Tung Oil finish. More details can be found at our Finish Options and Stain Choices pages. The cost is shown in the drop down menu above.

Our wood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States. These woods have been sustainably harvested for hundreds of years. Wood is a natural product and has grain and color variations that make each piece of furniture unique. No piece is an exact match with the listing photos. The unique color, grain, and appearance are all part of the one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.
